Why is this Recommended?
By default, emails from your store – like receipts and email campaigns, will be sent from our email domain (firstname.lastname@example.org). Custom SMTP, which is an abbreviation for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, allows AXOMO to send emails from your company’s email domain (@yourcomany.com). Custom SMTP is not only great for consistent branding, it also helps users recognize that store emails are coming directly from your business rather than a third party.
How to edit your SMTP settings
In the admin panel, head over to Customize > Custom SMTP and click “Add New”.
From here, enter your custom SMTP details. Below are some common email providers and their SMTP setup information:
Server Name: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Server Name: smtp.gmail.com
You can send yourself a test by clicking the “Send Test” button at top-right of the screen. Be sure to work with your I.T. team to ensure your custom SMTP is set up correctly.
A note about 2-factor authentication:
If your organization uses 2-factor authentication, AXOMO is unable to implement custom STMP without an app password. Use app passwords to set up custom SMTP for 2-step email logins.
